General Business:

Windsor Rd T-Way:

Information has been received from Police that they will be enforcing the law in relation to cyclists riding on the T-Way (Bus only areas). At this stage that enforcement would be a warning. This has come about as a result of representations by the bus drivers and their Union as they see it as a real safety issue. Particular problem areas are the Hammers Rd area and M7 / M2 Junction.

Windsor Rd / Hart Drive Intersection:

Council stated at the last cycleways committee meeting that work would start shortly on remedial action at that intersection to move sound barriers and allow access across the intersection and into the adjacent residential area. Funds have been approved for the work.

Parramatta Valley Cycleway:

The short missing link between Brodie St South Street Rydalmere has been finished and unofficially opened. A date for the official opening will be decided at the next Parramatta Council Cycleways Committee Meeting on 1/7/08.

Spine Road and Prospect Canal Cycleway:

Discussion re meetings with Boral and Holroyd Council re same. It appears that all proposed plans showed a bridge over this proposed busy road, but nobody has accepted responsibility for actually building it. Discussions are continuing between Holroyd Council, RTA, Boral and Local Members. Similar problems have been encountered on the Cooks River Cycleway. There is some further action with CRAG (Canal Residents Action Group) who have resurrected themselves to address some of these problems.

Parramatta Council Cycleways Meeting:

The draft of the cycleways map and proposed building of cycleways has been released. It is proposed to spend $400,000 a year on new cycle ways. The main focus will be to connect existing paths. Maps will be available for comment by CAMWEST Members shortly and then available for public comment.

Bugs Advisory Committee With BNSW:

Nick Urbanik and Rob Kemp will attend the next BUGS Advisory Committee Meeting with BNSW

CAMWEST Jerseys:

The straw poll regarding the design of CAMWEST Jerseys showed overwhelming support for the current colour, design and logo. John Holstein to get prices for the next meeting.

Annual General Meeting:

Discussion re same and it was decided to hold the meeting during the daytime at Narragingy Reserve on Sunday 28 September 2008. Lunchtime Sausage Sizzle with rides to be organised to the venue. Rob Kemp to book venue. Families to be invited to attend and CAMWEST will cater. Bring your own drink.
